Soaring Preparatory Academy is a Christian homeschool co-op created to bring families together, serve their community and provide a quality education for children ages 4 to high school. Our classes are based on the Charlotte Mason method, and we ask our parents to teach and support each other. We are not a drop-off program, but a way for families to learn and grow together. We offer classes for every age, and we hope to provide the support and resources families need to be successful in their home education journey. Starting in 2024 we will offer a nursery teacher for children ages 3 and under. So those families with younger children may attend with their older siblings in a relaxed environment of play that is facilitated and shared by other parents of preschoolers.
At least One Parent/Guardian will be required to be on campus at all times and participate in either teaching or assisting with a class throughout the year. (Exceptions for High School drop-in students) Parent and Student Policies 2024-25
Uniforms: SPA T-shirts or polos in Maroon or Dark Green. Mandatory Grades 1+ Strongly encouraged for all students.
Curriculum: We will be using an assortment of Charlotte Mason & Classically based Curriculum resources.
Ambleside Online with capture the main source of our inspiration for this year's classes, this is a free resource to look at and could be considered a loose guide to understanding and implementing a Charlotte Mason education at home, and does explore and recommend more so than lay out lesson plans.
History: Simply Charlotte Mason for the Spine, and we will add in additional books for cultural diversity as well as Florida History knowledge.
Logic & Speech: Fallacy Detective, Art of Argument, IEW
Primary students: My Father's world a source for most of their curriculum.
Science: Junior Students will be using Master Books, Mid-Senior Level students Sabbath Mood.
Language Arts: First Language Lessons, Elements of Style, Beginner to Intermediate Language Lessons & First Grammar Lessons as well as, IEW writing and grammar fix-it.
Math: Livingmath.net & Ambleside Online suggestions
Spanish Language: Llamitas Spanish & CM Spanish
Bible & Character Building: Junior-Senior Level will be using MasterBooks
